Summary

BMAC injections encourage tissue regeneration and healing from musculoskeletal injuries and disorders. The liquid part of your bone marrow will be drawn up through a hollow needle. The sample is called bone marrow aspirate. Bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) is made by processing and distilling this sample. The concentrated form is about six times denser with cells and growth factors than the original aspirate.  This will be injected into the specified area.

  • Cervical Selective Nerve Root Blocks

Summary

This injection relieves pain in the neck, shoulders, and arms caused by a pinched nerve (or nerves) in the cervical spine. It can be used to treat conditions such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and radiculopathy.

Summary

This diagnostic procedure is used to determine whether back pain is caused by one or more spinal discs. The procedure involves pressurizing suspect discs with an injection of sterile liquid to replicate the pain. Discography helps the specialist plan a course of treatment.
  • Caudal
  • Lumbar
  • Thoracic
  • Cervical

Summary

This outpatient procedure is an injection of a steroid-anesthetic medication through an opening in the sacrum. The medication can reduce swelling and inflammation of irritated spinal nerves. The injection takes only a few minutes to complete.

Summary

This injection procedure is performed to relieve low back and radiating leg pain. Steroid medication can reduce the swelling and inflammation caused by spinal conditions.

Summary

This outpatient procedure is an injection performed to relieve pain in the upper back. Conditions such as herniated discs and spinal stenosis can compress nerves, causing inflammation and pain. The medication injected helps decrease the swelling of nerves.

Summary

Spinal cord stimulation uses electrical impulses to relieve chronic pain of the back and legs. It is believed that electrical pulses prevent pain signals from being received by the brain. Spinal cord stimulation candidates include people who suffer from neuropathic pain and for whom conservative treatments have failed.

Summary

The facet joints, found on both sides of the back of the spine, can become painfully irritated or inflamed. A facet joint injection may help diagnose the source of a patient’s pain. It can also relieve pain and inflammation.

Summary

An intrathecal pump relieves chronic pain. It uses small amounts of medicine applied directly to the intrathecal space (the area surrounding the spinal cord) to prevent pain signals from being perceived by the brain. Pump candidates include people for whom conservative treatments have failed and surgery is not likely to help.

Summary

An intrathecal pump can help with spasticity issues. It delivers Baclofen to the area of the spinal cord that controls spasticity. Pump candidates include people for whom conservative treatments have failed and surgery is not likely to help.
  • Si Joint Injection
  • Knee blocks
  • Hip blocks
  • Shoulder blocks

Summary

This injection procedure is performed to relieve pain caused by arthritis in the sacroiliac joint where the spine and hip bone meet. The steroid medication can reduce swelling and inflammation in the joint.

Summary

This non-operative, outpatient procedure is designed to provide relief for patients with arthritis of the knee. The technique allows the physician to inject an inflammation-reducing steroid with maximum accuracy.

Summary

This outpatient injection procedure relieves hip, leg or buttock pain caused by arthritis or other damage to the hip joint.

Summary

This outpatient injection procedure relieves pain in the shoulder and arm caused by arthritis or other damage to the shoulder joint.

Summary

This minimally-invasive procedure uses a small needle and advanced radiofrequency technology to reduce a herniated disc, quickly relieving pain in most patients. The procedure may be performed on an outpatient basis.

Summary

A femoral nerve block is an example of a neurolytic block. This outpatient procedure numbs the leg with an injection of local anesthetic. The physician uses ultrasound or an electrical nerve stimulator to locate the femoral nerve. A needle is carefully guided through the thigh and down to the nerve. Anesthetic is slowly injected through the needle, bathing the nerve and temporarily blocking sensation in the leg.
  • Lumbar radio frequency ablation
  • Cervical radio frequency ablation

Summary

This minimally-invasive procedure, also called radiofrequency (RF) rhizotomy, reduces or eliminates the pain of damaged facet joints by disrupting the medial branch nerves that carry the pain signals. This procedure is performed with local anesthetic.

Summary

This outpatient diagnostic test is used to evaluate the health of muscles and the nerves, called motor neurons, which control the muscles. EMG is a valuable diagnostic device for determining the cause of muscle weakness and for identifying neurologic disorders.

Summary

This injection can both diagnose and treat pain coming from the sympathetic nerves. It is a common treatment for shingles and complex regional pain syndromes affecting the head, face, neck, or arms. Usually a series of these injections is needed to treat the problem.
  • Cervical
  • Lumbar

Summary

Coming soon.

Summary

This procedure is performed to relieve leg pain caused by complex regional pain syndromes, which may develop after an injury to a joint or limb. Usually a series of injections are needed to treat the problem.

Summary

This outpatient procedure is designed to reduce or relieve the pain of trigger points. These small, tender knots can form in muscles or in the fascia (the soft, stretchy connective tissue that surrounds muscles and organs). The trigger point injection procedure takes only a few minutes to complete.

Summary

This minimally-invasive treatment is used to repair spine fractures caused by injuries, osteoporosis or cancer. It stabilizes the spine, providing rapid back pain relief and helping prevent further weakening of the spine.
