Dr. Kenneth Boomgaard grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he studied at Grand Valley State University. He attended medical school at Wayne State University and completed his Family Practice residency at Saint Louis University. He holds Board Certification in Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine.
Dr. Boomgaard retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2015 where he served as the medical director of the Family Health Clinic at JBER from 2005 to 2015. He was also honored to serve his country in Iraq, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan and Korea. He has a wide range of experience from busy clinics to trauma centers. Dr. Boomgaard has chosen to focus his practice on pain management but will always continue to treat the whole patient.
Dr. Boomgaard and his wife have made Alaska their home for the past 12 years where they are raising their 3 children. They enjoy participating in community activities in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley area. They enjoy the many outdoor activities that Alaska has to offer including hiking, fishing, snow machining and trail riding on their ATVs.
